its a jaguar cat, they get like 9 inches and are very finicky eaters. Mine would only eat tilapia filet.

Could it be a Spinipterus species, like in here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=39465#p269583 ? -- these look like a tatia in body but are spotted like a jaguar woodcat. Yours, however, does not appear spotted in this way... still, the genus may be right.

.............

Check out Spinipterus acsi - http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=1885. I think it may be it but the size is off. Acsi top out at ~4" total length, the Cat-eLog says (~3" standard length).

Sorry, mate. Not with that pic. More angles and good pictures are needed. Trachycorystes trachycorystes has a huge dorsal, for one. The body proportions do not tell me it is Trachycorystes trachycorystes but one poor photo can be and often is misleading.

If you are able to get more good pics and would really like good, reliable, valuable feedback, I'd also suggest to post your question on Planet Catfish. There are plenty of woodcat nuts-in-residence there as well as ichthyologists.

Another guess -- Trachelyopterus coriaceus -- is offered by the OP in that PCF thread I linked for you but, obviously, far better pics are needed.
