This has been at an LFS labelled as unidentified catfish and not for sale but has been around forever. I'm curious as to what it is. Does anyone have anh ideas?

Interesting. I am clueless at the moment. Part driftwood, part Horabrachysoma, part something else... I hope you don't mind that I reposted your question on PCF as you got me quite curious. http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40900
I've never heard of such hybrids ever but it appears you are in ~total sync with Silurus (aka Dr. Heok Hee Ng) on PCF who says: "I suspect an auchenipterid-pimelodid hybrid."
No, never heard or seen one, but its what it looked lke to me. And there is always someone trying to make a quick buck with the next new must have fish.
You got some eye. I see a woodcat in it but not so much a pim. What pim traits do you see, apart from the pim-like adipose fin?
If this is indeed a hybrid, it's a pity Necrocanis is missing this. He'd be jumping out of his skin excited, I am sure (albeit I generally don't delight in people playing gods).
