Catfish idea

Planning on upgrading tanks. Tank will be at least 7' and 32" wide. It will have some driftwood and a couple of plants/ possibly attach plants to the wood?

Other tank mates will be 2 smaller rays, fire eel, and a datnoid or two

I guess the maximum the fish could be is 18"-20"?

What you guys think

It depends on its swimming needs. On average, I'd say the cat's total length should not exceed half of the tank width.

A school of LSN, suncats, Ompok, Schilbe, medium Pims, Heptapteridae like Rhamdia quelen, and many others come to mind.

I'd suggest filtering Cat-eLog on PCF by size and seeing what you like and can get and we could go from there?

Nice, sun cats I will have in mind.. Couple of them would look cool

Depending on tank setup, a couple may be either hiding and/or fighting. With sun cats, I'd recommend at least 6, more is better.

How large do sun cats normally get?

Also I heard Lima shovelnose stay pretty small so I guess they could work too?
