Agree with the above. They are very poorly known. 3'-4' in the wild. Hard to say anything about captivity.

Several genuine specimen, may be half a dozen or a dozen, have recently surfaced worldwide in USA and in Asia. In USA, the major source is Wes of RareFish. I got mine from him. I've never come across them before and now all of a sudden there is some availability.

Mine went from ~8" to ~14" in roughly 2/3rds of the year I've had it. Consistent with other Brachyplatystoma - about 1" per month in the first year. Slower from there possibly.

How are vulture cats with other tank mates? Better to have the fish bigger than them?
