Catfish I've never seen

Yes I think you are right about the tympanopleura...the second one though I couldnt find anywhere .. i saw those pages as i was in the store but the second catfish just doesn't look like anything I've seen.. longer thin body .. could be in terrible shape though...all from peru
 
I'd buy that second one, have the lfs hold it, and research later lol I've never seen it online or in person

I just tried to do more research .. I can't find this thing anywhere.. I'm going up there to take another look at it .. anyone else with any info on this fish ??? Eel like body with a gulper head??

That's because you are a sucker for mouthy driftwood cats.

Yes, fish from suppliers sometimes comes with a few oddball, even rare one at that. Usually driftwood catfish variety. Like in this picture, one of the fish that suppliers caught.

I've vaguely recalled seeing and reading someone's posts on similar-looking catfish. I can't recall where. If you are that serious, post on PCF soon and get bumped in the right direction by experts.
