That's weird...my RTC/TSN will not even touch pellets. He's hooked on shrimp, krill, and fillet.

My juruense won't even consider anything unless it's rosies...or sometimes the occasional bloodworm. I'm planning on putting the juruense on a "eat or starve" method once I beef him up a bit.

If you do get your juruense to take pellet, please share the secret but I'm going to be the next person to try it. :D

Well I doubt that I'll be the one to pioneer a juru on pellets, but if I manage to find a way I will surely share with everyone. I'd probably chalk it up to be mainly the catfish and not my fishkeeping abilities though.

So far I have only TSN's which will eat the sticks... everyone else looks at me like "what the (*!@$ am I supposed to do with this?... Thats not FOOD!... No problem I'll let it rot here till you take it out of the tank :D "

LOL. Stuck up cats. I know I'm not the only person here thats eating worse than their fish. Anyways is there anyone that has trained their cat onto pellets?

Well for me... it just wouldn't make sense to feed any of mine Pellets as they are all LARGE growers and it would cost me more to feed them pellets than the shrimp, Beef, Fruits, Fillets, Seafood mix... half of my sandwich :grinno: AND I find that they get better colors than the ones that eat only pellets... (I forgot that I have a pictus that refuses to eat ANYTHING but Shrimp pellets :screwy: yet the other 3 eat various droppings in the tank like the big boys do)

lol half the sandwich is the key to the better coloration I bet. So why is there such a high demand for massivore all the time. I hear about people buying it by the bucketload. I thought there were a lot of people out there feeding their cats massivore.

At a mid size I can see it... but I have 10 growing mouths to feed LOL ... I'd need a bucket a day to feed them now... and it's to expensive to justify for me personally... Could just be that the pellets are more expensive here but $14 for a little bag that is not even a sitting for one of the bigger guys here... doesn't seem worth it vs $6 for a Bag of shrimp that lasts 10 + feedings

try shrimp pellets, worked for me with small tsn, lima, and marble cats. but it may not work with juruense. then was able to get them on larger pellets and presoaked sticks when they grew a bit. too expensive to keep that up when they are big, so back to market shrimp, fillets, etc at that point.

i have found that my cats favorite food are nightcrawlers, except for the lima... that cat refuses anything but flakes and floating pellets now, and an occasional convict batch of fry... it won't even think about going after shrimp or the nightcrawlers... its favorite seems to be floating koi pellets.

My big hybrid can down a whole bag of large floating cichlid pellets in one sitting and still beg for his regular meal of shrimp and hotdogs. I found to cut costs a little on my food bill that all my cats seem to enjoy the cheepest hotdogs I can find at Sam's club lol. Like a 4 lbs pack of hotdogs for $6. I've been feeding %25 hotdogs for about 2 months with no ill effects. They will actually take hotdogs even when they refuse shrimp for some reason lol. It's like catfish crack. Even my big oscars eat them. So now my feeding regimen for all my fish is 3 lbs of hotdogs, 8 lbs of shrimp, 2 lbs of cichlid pellets, and 4 oz of bloodworms per week. Trying to get my filamentosum to eat anything besides fish, but he's giving me that look you guys mentioned!

i'll kinda stick to feeding floating pellets...since it trains the to notice that most foods are going to be at the surface thus giving you the chance to train them to be hand fed =]

I think I might skip the hotdogs for feeding. I try to refrain from eating them myself, and for some reason, my fish always end up eating better than me.

I might try some floating pellets. Maybe I can start hand feeding him.

Thanks everyone else that replied.
