You are aware of how big channel cats get, right?

yea i agree, i wouldnt bother with a channel cat. I had a blue n an albino and those suckers grew fast n ate everything! Within a few months they went from a couple inches to over 14". had to toss em in the pond.

i have been reading up on how big they can get, once he gets too big, he will be put up for adoption, what would be a better tank mate as in a bottom feeder for this setup?

search for a thread where the guys new $125 7" Aro become lunch to for a 4" cat. Not sure what kind, but it was swallon like a snake that just ate a pig.

Plus the cat would need a bigger tank than a 75.

If you can find some larger pictus cats or synodontis eupterus catfish. I think those would work great.

Never get a fish with the idea that you can easily give it away at monster size, particularly a common one like a channel cat.

get a bullhead, like brown black or yellow would be good they dont get too big for a 75. same care as channels

i am going to see if i can get some larger pictus cats, two of them, i will probably keep the channel and when it gets too big or doesnt do well with the oscars, he will be taken back to the fish store and kept in their pond that they have
