My cousin manages property for a very wealthy land developer on this area and there are two ponds on the property that they stock with bream and bass but blue cats have managed to wiggle their way in there are are destroying the stock. They have caught a few weighing 19 pounds.
I know there are some aquarium meds that are harmful to scaless fish but is there anything they could add to the ponds to kill the catfish without harming the other fish?

why not just fish them out and move them, why just kill a fish that did absolutly nothing to deserve it,relocating isnt that hard

these are BIG ponds and we've been fishing the catfish out for 3 years and they are just getting bigger. You just dont understand the magnitude of the problem. These guys fertilize the pond, have monster air pumps and automatic feeders. The catfish just keep growing. This guy has millions on millions of dollars and if he says kill the fish, you kill the fish. He's paying my cousin REAL GOOD to manages this land. i dont think he's going to argue. He quit his job as a big time investor to do this.

oh geez, this guy must be really into these ponds, got anypics?but idk maybe they make some comercial thing to get rid of them

I don't think there is any type of poison that won't harm the other fish. Maybe you can charge fisherman to catch them? Just a thought. Otherwise, catch them yourself. Fun and dinner. The Doctor

hae you ever kept a fish???? it doesnt matte what the rich a**hole thinks its a matter of science. either a) you kill all of them(all the fish) b) you drain your pond and restock it, c) you try some sort of genetical engineering so as to make all the blue catfish sterile why not waste a few hundred g's :D. why do they 'ferilize' the pond and what do they do it with (manure?). d) you give up and leave it be (after all im sure any fish weghing 19 pounds must be a bit of fun on the line!

If its strong enough to kill the catfish its strong enough to kill/do great harm to the other fish!

go noodleing!

Use a snakehead!!!

:j/k: That is too hard to get those catfish out of the pond, how big is it? Got any pics to share?

they fertilize the pond to start a food chain. They feed the microorganisms that feed the minnow that feed the small fish that feed the fish fish then the catfish eat everything.

Here's are a few pics of the last cat
