Thanks for all the reply's

i forgot to mention im on a low budget (saving up to go to Africa) so gulper's are out of the question! But i would LOVE a gulper, shame.

I might go with some syno's or pictus. these are both shoalers if i am correct. i thimk they grow to about 15cm.

Keep the suggestions coming in guys
many thanks for the help already provided
Matt

Pim. Blochii is my vote for sure. They have a lot of the charecter of thier larger cousins (active, friendly, ridiculous appetite), but stay much, much smaller. I don't think they exceed 12"

Is a Frogmouth the same as a Pacman cat?
I'm really interested in the Frogmouth cat now... very neat looking.
I have a thing for fugly fish.

Nah! Pacmans get HUGE!!! Again you can look them both on planetcatfish. I've got a Chaca Chaca. Just be warned the fish doesn't move lest he's feeding or really, really being harassed. They aren't easy to intimidate either. Mine just got real testy when my Hybrid tried to eat him. He tried goin head to head with the Hybrid who is more than twice his size. They both opened their mouths as wide as possible and tried to swallow each other.

Hmmmm...
I might put a Chaca-Chaca in my 35G. if it only gets 7'' and doesnt move alot, it seems like a 30''x12''x22' would be a good home...

i suggest the Synodontis Eupterus, i have two of them in my 90gallon fine you could easily do at least one. check out the pics and video....

Synos. or Asian Upside Down Cat, Mystis sp.

I'm with Rhodes, I have a Synodontis Eupterus in a 55 gallon. Hes maxed out at 8" and is very comfortable in that tank.
