Catfish stay in corner of tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
looks like a synodontis eupterus

what I would do is put in a clear tube because the catfish's eyes are so bad it really doesnt matter as long as the can feel that they r enclosed, also depending on how many days its been it may just be that ur cat is not adjusted to the new environment yet. What I do wen I get new cats is I cover up the tank and turn out the lights for 3 to 4 days and check on them in the middle of the night with either a moonlight or a flash light but point it up so the reflection comes off the housing/top. If direct light hits the eyes, this may startle them and cause them to go beserk!!! well that my tip. hope it helps.

Well your Synos will come around in time... they are just shy and as for the "bad eyes" comment... how wrong you are!... their eye sight isn't bad at all they simply feel more comfortable in low light situations where they have an advantage over everything else in the tank without whiskers.

Give these guys some time to come around and make sure that they have somewhere to hide and you will get them to come around faster... once they start coming out and feel more comfortable you will see them quite often

Obviously a Synodontis cat,as to what species its still not a great picture, however i would go with Synodontis victoria. All this family are nocturnal and need hideouts to feel secure, provide them with plenty and they will become confident and venture out, especially when the food goes in.
