FYI, I have my barely 2 year old big kitties in a 600 gal, and I'm really starting to feel the pressure to begin building their pond.

YUp. Just a dif company made mine. I had to bend mine a bit to get it to fit. If you heat them up a lil bit u can get them to fit through slightly smaller openings. It's not easy though. I don't want to upgrade until after my 1st yr of med school so hoping it'll last another yr. Lol

The other day at work somebody brought in a two foot channel cat because it was "getting to big for their tank". Even in their 125 it got that big and was continuing to grow.

Yup channels are beasts once they get over a foot u would have to try very very hard to kill one.when mine was about 1' he was still in the 125. Went on vaca for 2 weeks and the power went out. Every other fish in the tank was dead except For him. He was still sit tin there waiting to eat. Tested the ammonia and it was a dark blue.....way off the chart and he was no worse for wear.

So Wet Whiskers how big is their pond going to be? Sounds like a nice project.

I'm working on the exact dimensions. My 600 still needs to be able to fit in the garage. I'll go as big as a I can, but think it's going to be around 14'x6'x4'. The dimension will adjust as the project design gets more defined. I figure, that will need to be the minimum size. If it won't fit in the garage okay, I need to start thinking about building it in the backyard with some serious insulation.
