Catfish suggestion ?

Hmmm missed the brave bit, you will rarely see a jelly bumblebee ime.
4 lined or ornate pim would suit if you plan on upgrading, if not a group of pictus.
What about getting glass cats don't they get 6"…
Asian bumblebee cats are pretty active.

Glass cats are fragile my green terror would make short work of them

Just some of my thoughts.

I'd not get any medium sized Pseudopimelodidae, like Batroglanis, etc. These are ambush predators, swallow-the-seemingly-impossible specialists, that may place your cichlids at risk.

Sun cats grow well over 6"-7".

Asian bumblebee or Asian up side down catfish may be considered.

Pictus might be too small but may work.

Yea, glass cats are fragile and need special care.

Among synodontis, one could think of the most common eupterus. Also, angelicus, notatus, occelifer, decorus, nigrita, etc. - the larger ones. Eupterus almost never grows to over 8"-9" in captivity.

I like the Asian bumblebee cats, are they common don't know much about them

They are rather available. Read up on them - they are well known. Planet Catfish (including Catfish of the Month article series), Scotcat, FishBase, SeriouslyFish, AquaticCommunity, etc. etc. etc.
