every year i go out and catch a small catfish for my 90 gal. last year i had a channel this year a bullhead. i let them go in the fall because the years before they never made it through the winter. theyd never bothered each other.

Ya i removed The blocker they they are doing fine. No bites our anything I thnk the catfish passed out finrot to his frist tank mate... thought i got it all off him befor adding him to the BG tank.

Ug his a Pig. But his a daytime Dweller now, Which is cool. I know Koi wount stop eating but will the ChCat? ones his full. my pleco is even getting along with him :)

dude koi grow like no tommorow too

Bought 2inch Koi at a pet store for my 200 gallon tank and the thing grew to 11 inches in 6 months. I decided to give him to my friend 4 months ago who had a 2500 gallon pond, the fish is now 22 inches. So ya, they can grow fast.

Im in the middle of making another pond to move my two koi into along with the chcat. I want to add a mix of koi later on the road (jap koi are Pricey) Should i keep the bigger then the catfish or just his moouth? Koi are Fast moving guys but im looking to stock mid size koi about 4inch up. What should i worry about most.

Where do you let them go? Back into the wild? This is a bad idea as you can spread non-native desiese from domestic fish stock to wild fish stock. I know that they are natives, but if they are kept in an aquarium with other fish and they catch something and you transfer them to the wild you could possibly introduce a desiese or parasite and cause a fish pandemic. Also it is illegal to do this in any state. Do what you will, but I warned you.

Rallys Albino Channel lives with Koi in a pond now.

I totally agree with this.

Update:

I have removed my Channel Cat from the koi tank. I picked up a Jap koi which was Realy nice black and yellow. An after a week i saw some missing Scales. So I got pissed an tossed his ass in his own Places tell the pond is done. So scales grow back? This was a 120 dollor Fish which makes me bad. An i see ppl with them but Dont hear them Talking about the catfish sucking the scales off the koi. Doesnt look like Screach from the rocks i think.
