The electric catfish has been in it's new tank for over several days now and refuse to eat. Today, I finally had enough and put it back to it's original tank. 2 hours later, it ate an huge earthworm. WTF??

Does it have a happy place in it's old tank? I've had good luck transferring fish by recreating hidey spots in new tanks, but then again most of my fish are not picky eaters.

^I agree. If the cat had someplace where it always hung out in the old tank then try placing that in there and seeing how it goes. Or you could transfer all you had in the old tank into the new to recreate the old tank then as it starts eating again move things according to what you want.

my RTC always refuses to eat for a few weeks when we move tanks, i just offer him as much and as varied a diet as i can until hell eat, then i return to his normal regime

Yeah I wouldn't keep moving him from tank to tank. Its just going to stress him out even more. I would put him in the tank that you want him and leave him there. Give him some nice hiding spots and cut off the lights. I have in the past after moving my Ecat put several towels over the front and sides of the tank just to block out the light. This will help distress the fish. Give him a few days with out feeding attempts, and he should be good and hungry. Keeps us posted on his progress.

it's been over a week now, and the electric catfish still doesn't show any interest in eating. i been nudging bits of earthworms almost infront of his face, but the catfish doesnt even bother to move. im not sure how long they can go without eating, but i plan to move it back to its old tank if it doesnt eat by next week.
