i have a mud cat from the lake and just whanted to know if he only eats algae or can i feed him ather small fish

Is a mudcat the same as a bullhead??? if so they will eat anything I feed mine shimp, shrimp pellets, earthworms, algae disks......ect. Just feed them with the lights off and make sure they have hiding spots. By the way...Welcome to MONSTER FISH KEEPERS!!!

"mud cat" is a local nickname and doesn't mean much to others not from the region... we are spread out across the world here and usually look for the real common name or the scientific name of fish as it helps to make sure that there is little confussion as to what species you are talking about.
