I think you are just looking for the wrong stuff. Hikari cichlid gold, excel and staple are all designed to be used for many sizes of fish. FD krill is another good large fish food. I also use Azoo 9 in 1 pellets which are meant for arowanas. Then there are many unconventional foods that will work very well. Catfood is not a good one to feed to fish. Even the best cat foods, have poor ingredients for fish.

Do you mean that they have ingredients that are bad for fish, or are missing some ingredients that are good for fish? While I agree that it wouldn't be good as a main diet, unless there is actually something that is BAD for fish, I don't see what is wrong with mixing in a little bit into their diet. With a varied diet, you can make up for things that are missing with something else. I don't know what fishfood prices are like where you live, but if I bought Hikari gold all the time, it would cost about $10 a day to feed JUST my pacus! Also, I have a ton of cats, so one day it just clicked.:D

If your fish are big enough, couldn't you just use the whole cat...?

whoever said catfood does not have vegetable matter is dead wrong

that was me.

Fillers like corn meal and wheat flour provide for fish the same nutrional substance they provide for cats - nothing. Might as well feed them stale bread.
