feck :hitting:
thanks sis that is :)

ill try to make some decent pics 2moro, when the lights are on again.

sounds iffy...strange for an aro to just have it's tail ripped off right at the base. Is there nothing left?

What it sounds like to me is that the fish had previously went through a tail/fin operation and healed. But upon jumping and splashing about, it broke at where the fin was previously cut. I could be totally wrong, but its' just my thought on this. Pics would help :)

Good luck with the fish, keep the water clean.

I my experience they grow back it just may take some time. The important thing getting him settled in and maintaining good water quality. Increase the temp slowly to 86 F and start adding some aquarium salt to about 0.1-0.2% to prevent any infections. Is he eating? What is he eating? Can you get Ketapang leaves or blackwater?

Caudal and other fins do break off if they aros are not handled correctly during bagging and transit, but the good news is that they will grow back at an amazing speed and one would not even know the fins had been broken. The best thing is to avoid breaking fins in the first place by using "bag in the water" method to catch and bag the fish. The fins have a greater chance of breaking off when they are flapping out of water, esp in a net. If you suffered the misfortune of broken fins, just keep the water sweet, keep them well fed when they start eating, add Melafix if you like but not absolutely necessary and they will be on the road to recovery.

Thanks for the info bro. I noticed i did it wrong but the tank was a bit big to catch it by bag. When we moved it in the box all went well but when the boxed was closed, he freaked and started jumping. That must be the cause. Well, in a month or so i should be able to show a fully recovered golden :)
