Caught Food for an RTC...Is it safe?

Why you want to make such experiments with your RTC?
They are so voracious that thy will swallow anything you throw in your tank...
They may digest small crabs or snails but may cause some problems dont you think?

I don't want to experiment. I care for my RTC too much to do that which is why I am asking. I know that crustaceans are part of their natural diet but I am still hesitant to feed him that. That is why I am asking if anyone has any experience with this situation. I just want to give him the varied diet he needs. I am in no way experimenting.

my rtc eat crabs from the beach. i keep lots of crabs in a tank when they are ready to peel then i feed them to my fish. never had a problem

Thanks Matt. How do you know they are ready to peel? Do they hide or dig in the substrate?

just crack one off there legs. you will see a leg formed inside the old one.
