i'm looking for places where i can buy caves... i have a tank of africans and i have bunch of rocks but they are real heavy and are constantly falling bc of gravel being moved.. i'm interested in those big caves that are lightweight but have tons of little hiding spaces ... any ideas where to look? i searched ebay and amazon for "aquarium or aquatic caves" and came up with very slim selection which i found hard to believe.. maybe there is a different name i should be searching?

thanks!

no.. not texas holey rock... more of a cave to hide... i saw a big one in petsmart but its like 40 bucks.. i'd prefer to spend less

It'd be hard to find them much cheaper than that I would think. Maybe find the brand name of the one at PS and try searching for that on ebay.

try some lava rock i found it useful when i wus tryin to spend NO money on caves....i stacked them like live rock and my flowerhorns loved it when i had them

I just received my shipment of Cichlid Stones from Kens Fish yesterday. They are under the Breeding Supplies section. They have a very nice flat finish that blends well with natural stones. I'll take a picture of my tank later today and post it.

If you have large (full grown) cichlids and just want a cave, then you should get the one large size they have. The small sizes are great for fry and small cichlids to hide in. The medium stones make nice hiding places for small to medium size cichlids.

Here is the link and a picture of the largest stone.

Here is a tank picture with two of the cichlid stones. The large one has three 1/2" holes for water circulation. I used one of the holes to anchor a plant. I plan to add a few more and extend the natural rocks over them.
