CB Congicus turn 1. Update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome update! What do you feed em?

Smelt, tilapia, massivoire and occasionally beef heart

And with all due respect, their CB traits are really quite striking.

Thanks I was frustrated with not being able to find a replacement for my old WC congicus so "settled" for these guys.

Lol they still amazing

Man, the growth on these guys is absolutely insane. I think they look pretty neat with the pale white though. do you think the coloration is more due to them being CB or your substrate?

Also, how big is that Teug in pic in post #3 pic #2 just wondering for comparison.

Teug is between 10 and 11 inches but very thin. The substrate is a mix of black blasting sand and pfs. All my other bichirs darkened up on it so I really believe this is genetic

Wow! They are huge now. Doesn’t even look like the same fish. Love the weeksii sandwhich pic....teug looks like a worm compared to the others:p

In looking at pics I agree they have changed a lot from the early pics. The Weeksii still dwarfs them both. The teug would be an easy snack but knock on wood I have never had poly on poly canibalization

I read this and thought - that's a weeksii. Then looked again and saw the Teug. It's so small!

Ha, thanks for he laugh

Incredible growth rates on those guys. What's your secret? Maple syrup as dechlorinator? Occasional poutine feedings? LOL!

just speculating here but im guessing some sort of cattle steroids:D:D

Haha, seriously though I think the 0 nitrate Rocky Mountain water does help

Thanks Magpie, they are so different then my others. Likely the closest I will ever get to a platinum

The little teug gets lost in th Bichir piles. The Big weeksii puts everything in perspective
