Ditto. A 75g would be the minimum per se.

I have an Oscar in a 75. It's about 14". A 75 isn't enough space. I'm looking at upgrading to a 120 or a 125. Yes it can turn around but the 75 doesn't offer enough swimming space or room for a big oscar.

hmmm well then maybe my devil will win me over the oscar.

i hope your kidding. devils can hit the same length or get bigger than O's from all the posts i read about getting one.

CB, theres too much wrong going on. First off, it doesnt sound like your home life is pleasant. I dont know about anyone else in your family, but your aunt seems kinda bossy and theres too much fighting. I think its best you focus on getting in a stable situation before thinking of fishkeeping. You cant care for them properly and your aunt wont let you do WCs, plus theres constant threats of being thrown out.

You are also bouncing around homes for a place to stay, are you gonna keep lugging your fish and belongings all over the place? Do yourself a favor and find a place to stay where you will be stable and wont have problems. Fishkeeping should be the last thing on your mind right now.

And like I said earlier, with the tank sizes you have, you should consider getting fish that are proper for those size tanks. Theres plenty of fish that grow small enough to keep in your tanks. Ask around and get suggestions. Theres cichlids that stay small too.

But take care of yourself 1st alright?

thanks i will. and i might just get rid of the oscar. and a 55 is comming for a red devil. ive seen red devils in a 55 alot on here so that should be fine fo one fish to be in a 55 i think.. what do u all think?

How do you siphon water from tanks that are on the floor?

Not to my taste, but each to their own.

On topic.

55 - not big enough for an Oscar OR a red devil. Would tell you to return them, stop buying new fish, etc etc. But i think we've all done that enough for you to know.
