You look at them from the top in ponds.
Just saying :D

Looking at fish from the top doesn't appeal to me.

PS, there is no plastic in their "natural habitats"

Nothing personal, but that's a horrible idea. Too many cons and not enough pros.

I do worry about my 56 gal sometimes, just because it is glass and water is heavy and there's lots of pressure on it, but the glass is about 4mm thick, which is regulation for that size (based on mathematical calculation by tank manufacturers). There's always a risk, but like someone said, "what's the point in keeping fish if you can't SEE them!?!?"

Rubbermaids can make very good cheap tanks. However I'd shoot for getting the clear ones and keeping the water level as low as possible to minimize bowing. Watch it with some of the colored style rubbermaids. I had one about 70g that developed a pin hole leak.

Never had a problem with the clear ones though and many people use them.

i used a rubbermaid outside for a little bit.. there was a small leak in the bottom, but i sealed it up well with silicon..

the bowing would be more scary to me than the fear of cracking a tank.. they look like they can split at anytime..

You had problems caring for your dog properly, do not invest in any more tanks or rubbermaids, just take care of what you have..........properly.

Thats completely insane. you might as well keep fish in your toilet or bathtub. I dont think a bathtub would crack. break down and spend a few bucks on a decent glass tank from walmart. either that or stick your head in that rubbermaid to look at your fish.

decent tank from walmart. oxymoron much?
