Cedar..?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cedar has alot of resins which are bad for fish. They also retain the resins for like freaking forever. ALso you would end up with a tank that smells like pinesol

Old gray weathered cedar is fine. I use it in many of my tanks. But if you can still smell it, it's probably too fresh.

This is grey, but I drilled into it some and saw a bit of red. IDK. I decided to set up a bog with some mollies, with the cedar draped diagonally through the tank, and the tank will be half filled. If the mollies survive for 6 months in there, I will try it in my ten gallon.

yep.
So, we shall see.
