I have recently been offered a 120g tank with "cement bottom". I've never heard of this, can anyone help me out. By the sounds of it, the tank is glass and everything, but the bottom is cement. Is this a good thing, is this common? I'd like to know if it is something I should buy, the price is good, IMO.

Any input is appreciated.

That is weird i have never heard of that. that thing is gonna weigh a ton!!
Oh and you might want to watch your PH as cement may raise it.

I'm thinking of buying it since it might be an antique. It apparently holds water. But I'm thinking more and more that it is a slate bottom. She doesn't have a picture handy tho.

Ask if it has a metal frame. Those old slate bottom tanks had stainless steel frames. The older ones frames were just plain steel.
