Recently set up a 110gallon tall and while transporting the fish into the tank I had broken the center glass brace. The middle part shattered and only is attached on the sides. Would I be able to repair it without draining all the water? What are the bests ways in your opinion to fix this.
Thanks a bunch

I have never seen a center brace made if glass. How is it attached to the frame, silicone?

Sorry I dont know why they posted upside down

No biggie..It should be a quick and easy fix...once you've gotten the replacement glass panel.Cut out all traces of the old and silicone in the new.

Wouldn't need to empty the tank? Thanks!

You need to drain the tank to do this.

You could probably get away with doing it while full if you're careful. Home depot will cut you a new price if glass. Actually better yet, theyll cut you strips of acrylic so this doesn't happen again. They only carry 1/8" acrylic but you can use a couple.

You can't do it while full, the center brace keeps the tank from bowing and if its full it will be bowed.....and if he puts the replacement on while its bowed theres no point in having a center brace.

Op, I would take the water down lower than half, as low as I could and I would silicon a replacement glass panel under the existing panel.

I actually helped my friend fix his glass center brace on his 240 gallon yesterday. it cracked in a corner and the silicon pulled away from the tank. we just took about 1/4 the water out, went to Menards to get a couple of clamps, siliconed the glass top back to the tank, tightened the clamps so the tank doesn't bow, and it is drying as we speak.
