in what way will they be aggressive?
the only one would be a jardini.
all other species of aro arent aggro, neither are redtail payara or peacock bass.

both black and silver's ave mean streaks hidden way... of course it varies from fish to fish but they can be just as mean as jars generally not to all fish but they can be very picky about tank mates.....

what about a red finned giant gourami (laticlavius) they get a good size (18"-20") and are quite bulky but not as big as the common giant, they can be a bit territorial though but depends on individuals, also they are quite colourful

aros, pbass, armatus, RTGG, Dats, there are lots of options you could even get some large cichlids from jeff rapps... what are you looking for?

Dats, aros, pbass, payara, lots of good choices.

Are you just looking to do just one fish for that tank? Go for a Jardini

In my opinion, Silver/ Black Arowana (not jardini) might be the best centerpiece fish for you. Here are some good tankmates for the Arowana:

Bichirs
Stingrays
Clown Loaches
Datnoids (get a datnoid that won't fit in the arowana's mouth)

These guys can all coexist together in a community tank with an arowana.

There are other fishes that can also be good tankmates with the arowana.

It isn't one fish but a colony of Frontosa would look awesome in there.

For the record I would categorize virtually every fish that was named in this thread as agressive. They may not be balls out agressive like a Hoplias Aimara but none of them are really "community" fish. They are all predatory fish that "can" get along with other fish. There are no guarantees.
