Center piece fish for Asia themed tank?

Could try some sort of dwarf gourami

Well I set up the 55 gallon! For my final stock I am thinking this:

Harlequin rasboras x15
Panda gara x4
Some sort of gourami either a pair of pearls or a group of honeys
Red tail shark
x8 Kuhli Loaches
A school of some kind of danio or peaceful barb. Had my eyes on the ruby barb.

A small spiny eel would be cool, but they don't seem easy to care for, so I think the Kuhli loaches will have to do.


Will this combination have activity at all levels of the tank? Any potential problems with this list?

Not really accurate to say chromides are only found in brackish water "at times". They are primarily found in brackish water. The places where they're found in inland freshwater are suspected intentional releases.

But the fact still remains that orange chromides can be maintained in freshwater for their lifetime.

If you were talking about green crhomides, then yes they need brackish.
