I was going to go for a wet pet in my 130 but the deal fell through so I thought about it a lot and wanted to do a CA community, I quite like yellow jacket cichlids and would possibly want one in the tank but I just wanted ideas on what you guys would put in the tank. I would like a big fish community but they don’t work out most of the time so I wanted some ideas of stocking. Any help would be appreciated

You might consider only stocking male new world cichlids.
5x - Firemouth
1x - Electric Blue JD
1× - RIvulatus GT
4× - Rainbow cichlid
5x - Maculatus (spotted Silver Dollars)
2× - BN Pleco
4× - Y. Modesta Loach (Red Fin Loach)

I more or less had the above listed fish community in my 120 G. minus the Rainbows, at one time. It looked real good and had very few problems.

I would do a lone jd as your bigger fish then add a group of thorichthys and maybe a pair of spilurus.
A full grown jd can look impressive and you would also see interesting breeding behaviour from the smaller cichlids.
This would also be biotope correct stocking, if that matters to you.

I like the idea of the big fish with smaller surrounding fish, could i do a group of thorichthys ellioti, maybe 5, then a pair of like may be cryptoheros nanolutes, and some catfish, a nd then the centrepiece fish be something else like a vieja. also would a group of livebearers work.

I may be the wrong person to ask as my views on stocking seem a bit more restrictive than most.
Personally I feel most veija get too big for a 120 so I would say no to those.
Thorichthys elliotti(macullipinnis) are the most aggressive of the thorichthys genus so I would up their numbers to about 8.
A pair of nanos should be fine, just provide lots of cover and caves.
For a larger centre piece fish, I would look at fish that stay under 12 inches, 10 inches would be better.
As long as your large fish is not a predator then live bearers like swords or sailfin mollies should be fine.

Okay thanks, do you have any ideas For a centrepiece fish

Good suggestions given already, I agree with Stanz a tank like that would be a good option.
I would probably do something like:
1x male P. Loisellei
6-8x T. Aureus (maculipinnis are a bit of mean as stated, and aureus look similar)
2x Sajica (nanoluteus may work but I have found them to be kind of pushovers, as the "underdog" in the tank I'd go for a more boisterous species like Sajica)

The only Thorichthys I can find near me are ellioti and fire mouths. Are they really that mean, is it more to each other or to other fish. Also could I have two or three pairs in the tank of smaller fish if I don’t have the big fish

What about a Cuban centre piece?
Could probably do a vieja hetro, extremely slow growing.
