Central American update

Update time. Moved some fish around and added a group of vieja melanura from the rio sarstun location that I got from Don Conkels. They're still settling in so aren't looking the most pretty but they're getting better everyday. They're not nearly as shy as they were when I first got them. They were pretty beat up from the shipping but are coming along better now. I wish I could get a closer shot of the balzanii but they're a little camera shy. Theyre getting pretty huge now compared to the size they were when I first got them. The dominant male is starting to develop nice speckling throughout his fins and is starting to acquire a bit of a nuchal hump on his head. He's looking awesome.

So for video 1, this is my 125 growout tank of my vieja melanura Rio sarstun, vieja melanura Lake Peten or specified as Laguna Yaxha from rapps who gets them from rusty wessel, vieja Argentea and two other Argentea from the rio tulija location that I acquired from Conkels as well but are still quite small so you probably won't see them in the video, a vieja maculicauda black belt, and some sajica. Getting these fish into the 300 can't come soon enough. I'll be separating the Argentea if they get out of hand and the black belt but I'm just experimenting to see if they can coexist with the melanura especially since I've been raising them together as really small juvies. We will see what happens though. But so far so good. My dominant lake peten melanura seems to keep everyone in check so there really isn't too much aggression in this tank. Here's the video though.

As for tank 2... There are two variety red head synspilum that came from rapps in this tank. I put them in here because they were much more calm then the vieja in the bigger tank so they seem much happier in here for now, I also have two other synspilum that I got from Imperial Tropicals and these are much more yellow and pink in color then the other red heads I got from rapps. They remind me of the rio Grande de chiapas location melanura so I'm excited to see how they turn out. I purposely collected all these melanura from different suppliers to compare the differences in all them. The lake peten melanura are much more aggressive then all these other type of melanura I have so far. Much more attitude. Anyways, back to the tank, I also have a group of F1 cichlasoma dimerus, F1 gymnogeophagus balzanii Bella union location and some heterospila. I have a 180 gallon these fish will be moved to this summer. I'll be moving these melanura in with the others in the 300 once I decide which ones I want to keep and get rid of.

Here's a pic of my lake peten dominant male as well.
