hi guys/gals i am thinking about setting up a community in a 6x2 tank what would you recommend ? i am thinking about motaguense 'red tiger',tetracanthus, loisellei, vieja argentea, maculicauda, texas and a couple of plecs would this work in your opinions ? if not what species ? cheers Paul :)

preety cramped. drop the lois, or the mota or the texas

i don't necessarily mean all together just what combination would be best in your opinion, but thanks for your answer,i will drop the texas as i have kept them before and will drop to one plec, maybe a grammodes would be ok instead of blackbelt ?

When you say community, you're meaning just cichlids? I'm partial to a pair of Nics, one Vieja synspila, a school of tetra (larger ones, of course - I think Astyanax are CA), a male convict and/or a pair of Firemouth or similar. And a Pleco, too.

i have kept them in pairs and this is prob the best way tbh but i have also kept them as singletons in a largeish tank before with no probs, just that i have never kept the species i mentioned before (apart from texas cichlids),i think i will go ahead and try but be prepared to move them around a bit if need be,also growing them up together may help as well, thanks for youe thoughts Paul

i was thinking about the same setup, here is my idea pearsei, carpintis, salvini, blackbelt,v.regani
