central sump idea - i want feeback

I want to echo what cchhcc said about sponge filters in each tank... even with quarantine you still may come across a situation where you want to isolate a tank (maybe you want one tank to be brackish or something, who knows). Having some HOB or sponge filters seeded and ready to go is never a bad idea IMO.

If that's just you "fresh water" there is nothing to feed the bacteria in the filters. Try the overflow to the drain.
