Centromochlus species

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not yet, I have only had them in for about a month adn they were young. Right now, working on conditioning them to breed. Hopefully it won't be long! They are spectacular in large groups, which is not how most people keep them. They are little little whirlwinds in the water column during feeding time.

PICS!!!

Had them for 2years gave them to a friend when he started a tropical SA tank. They are very nice and beautiful cats. They are cute when chunky but can be bullied but easily bullied by other fishes too though. I had some plecos that bossed them around too...always chas'n them off when they get too close.

That is cool! I didn't realize they were so active while the lights were on. Seems that all the Auchenipteridae species I've had are very nocturnal. Which was interesting because they were active in tank I got them from with the lights on. I wonder if keeping them in large groups helps with that.

I am sure that it does. Also, coincidentally, I am keeping htem in cooler temperatures (low 70s) than most recommend. I am thinking they like it

Also forgot to mention that they were also in bare bottom tanks. I have 2 Zamora Cats and even though they aren't very active and like to hide ALL the time...the times that I do catch them swimming around, they are my favorite fish to watch swim. They remind me of sharks.
