Ceramic Biological Filter Media

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There's other media that is just as good as mentioned by daniel cho. Any ceramic media is going to perform just about the same. But there are ones that are proven just like this one, and fluval biomax. For my 125g that has 20 some odd fish I have 2 full rings of my FX5 full of biomax and bagged gravel with some pads too. Roughly 2000g of media.

7 bucks a stick

I would rather get the knock off personally, bio media is just a place for attach to and grow so even plastic army men work lol.

3 dollars a stick is a lot better than 7 bucks, but I'm not sure if hes still selling. you should just send him a pm. Or you can get lava rocks and use them, its basically the same thing but not in a nice stick form but its dirt cheap.

And i cant find the vendor for some reason.. maybe he deleted his acc?

Not all ceramic media is created equal. I'm a big fan of Eheim Substrat(pro) for its price and availability, but that Marine Pure is on a whole different level. Please don't listen to the pot scrubber or gravel recommendations.

just want to buy them to suspend my future pothos basket above my sump.. instead of Using PVCs i was going to use this type of media instead.. why waste sump space when you can benefit the both worlds... i already have 30 liters of Matrix in my sump but with my big pair of motoros it's still producing .25 ammonia... sump includes ammonia chip and 30 liters of Matrix after going though the ammonia chip..when future pothos setup will upload what this was used for...

That's a good idea.

Maybe you can buy smaller diameter pvc cover them with silicone and spread small matrix all over it.
