On my 90 Gallon i have 2 AC 70's (300) and 1 AC 110 (500),i was wondering if i filled the 500 straight to the top with Ceramic Rings only(this would be alot of rings)This would offer unsurpassed numbers of Nitrobacter and so on.Is there a point where i have too much bio-filtration??? I kinda don't think so.Meanwhile, the 2 AC 70's will be for Mechanical and Chemical Filtration. Is this a good idea? I want some of the Mods opinions on this.
Thanks

 well I'm not a Mod persay. So maybe I'm wasting my time here but no you cannot have to much bio filtration. And I don't know if you would have unsurpassed biofiltration but it would be good. I personally have an Ehiem 2260 the holds 18 liters of media :D

I am also not a mod lol, anyway, I don't think you can ever have to much bio filtration. I think it's a good idea. Also, their might be some cheaper bio subatrate out there. Potscrubbers come to mind :D

I would keep the mechanical in there to keep the ceramic from clogging with gook. If not the big AC sponge, a piece of filter material, like SHOEFREAK03 said.
You can have ceramic in all three filters, just have something to filter debris before the ceramic.
I use pot scrubbers in my wet/dry because I am under the impression that the hard, non-porous material holds only the beneficial bacteria type that requires air. Where you should use porous material in, in-water filters.
either way, filtration is good.

i have a spare biowheel running on my tank, i filled it with the C-rings for more bacteria. don't know if it works but id does catch alot of crap. you may want to put a sponge in the bottom to catch crap.
