Chaca chaca cat?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
8 inches is an absolutely bogus size... they get pretty big but grow relatively slow for a big cat. Heres a video of one thats around 19 inches.

They hardly ever move and prefer to bury themselves in substrate and wait for unsuspecting prey of swallowable size to meander by then they strike. I love them and hope to get a trio of them pretty soon....remind me of less active smaller goonch catfish.

Video is labeled as a pacman fish... The one in looking at is a chaca chaca and all the sites I've seen with info on them says 8" max... How big
They may get in the wild may certainly be different but who knows?

You are confusing two different species. Pacmans and Chaca Chaca are not the same.

do you know why they call it chaca chaca, its because when you take the fish off the water it produces the sound "chaca".. an oddball indeed

They are also called the frog mouth catfish.
seems they imitate the frog sounds and gobble up the attracted frogs.
