Chameleon in "open air" enclosure?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The only time one jumps is if I take the female over by the males cage then it's on he runs to her then just flinges himself in her direction landing on me or the floor or whatever is between him and his girl.

LOL, i was about to post those pics corey. When i get my new cham i plan on copying your plans almost exactly. When i had my old cham i did a open air enclosure. I had 1 escape then i cam up with a design on the bottom with slanted acrylic and never had a escaoe after.

Mine works great no escapes at all. I have two one for my male and one for his girl and so far this year I got to batch's of eggs so I'd have to say they must like there homes. They cost about two hundred with the two lights and dripper and about a hundred without.
Wow dude, I think I would go for the mesh cage but yours its really something in the owesame side :WHOA:

The one problem is I'm very concerned with making things as naturalistic as possible and from what I'm seeing so far there isn't much opportunity for that when trying an enclosure like this...From what I'm seeing though the only real way to make it escape-proof is to hang it from the ceiling?

screens like window screening is not safe for them they get there toes stuck in it and lose many toe nails that way which could lead to infection if you use wire screen get 1/4in mesh more like chicken wire thats much safer.Don't use cages that have window type screening
