i saw a beautiful chamelon the other day he was about 8" tail included what size tank would i need to hosue one this size for life, also while i was at the local reptile shop the tank with the cham in also had a thrilled gecko in and large waxxy tree frogs can i keep these as tank mates for life.
the short answer is no chameleons are meant to be kept separate from other animals due to that they don't tolerate other herps(except during breeding) like I keep my panther chameleons outside and once they see a lizard of any type they would start to flare and hiss. Probably the chameleon you saw was a veild so a screen cage about 24x24x48 would suit it.

if you need more info then ask me:D

Out of the 2 I would say go for a crested gecko, they are super cool and aren't a PITA like chameleons can be for beginners.
