I believe there were 750 different types in lake Malawi alone, and that list is still growing...

Yes there are about 750 catalogged species, and the list keeps growing.

Mostly the species are regrouped according to where they live as a species coulour varies from place to place.

But from time to time a new species is found. These are mostly the open water or deep water fish

When I saw that this thread was bumped I was expecting to see post or photos from someone who had a Champsochromis Caerulius.

Here is a pic of my F1 champ caeruleus. Had a spilorhynchus but he died. He is between 10-11".
