Hey there! The owner of one of my LFS has a 700g 8'x3'x4' acrylic tank with a metal stand, it has a sump thats i guess no less then 100g, its got a big skimmer and a pump(had three but he sold two)a heater(dont know how many watts). The tank has an overflow in the middle and the outlets coming out of the sides of the over flow and on the bottom of the tank. He is selling everything for $1500...the thing is that it seems like one of the walls in the corner seems to be detaching, you can see that the silicone is "stretching" i wold say...the owner told me that the tank is 15 years old and that the tank didn't leak but he emptied it because he saw the the one of the corners was "detaching"
To me seems seems like a good deal, just need to get it fixed. There seems to be no cracks of any sort. The tank was saltwater, i saw it back in 2005 running, he had a big green eel with some corals.
What do you guys think? is it expensive to re silicone the whole thing? If its 15 years old i would re silicone the whole thing
Thanks
