Change of Location for the Stingray Symposiium

The lack of commitment on the part of the many hobbyists who keep freshwater stingrays is extremely disappointing. I mistakenly believed that people who are willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on stingrays would be excited to spend 3 days listening and talking to the world’s leading experts on these fish, so they could provide proper care for their specimens. I was wrong. Because of the limited number of registrations, the International Symposium on Freshwater Stingray Biology will now take place at the Shedd Aquarium, on August 7th and 8th. Registration is still limited to 50 people, but at this time there are only about 15 spots left. As noted earlier, the auction, raffle and banquet dinner have been cancelled. I will be contacting those people who have already registered with additional details. Those fortunate people will have an incredible experience.

1st year of ANY fish specialty convention is always a *****! Even the well known older conventions are having a hard time attracting big numbers this year. Economy? Gas? Travel Expenses? Don't give up just work harder! It will slowly grow as the word gets out.

I'd love to go if I could get off from work and it was closer. Don't give up, the interest in rays seems to be growing quite a bit lately. I'm sure the response will continue to grow as more people get into rays.

Dont tell me your going to cancel on me.... I sent the forms and fees to you over 3 weeks ago and still heard nothing in return ...I need to hear from you soon ...some answer would be nice to know if I and going to me out over 400 bucks and drive out ALL THE WAY FROM WV.

and what are the instructions on getting into the aquriuam do now have to pay an entrance fee to attend the symposium
