most people are staying downtown since the hotel that was giving the deal was where the symposium was going to be but it is 30 miles away from the shed where now its being held there so the extra money paid on a hotel would make up for the taxi from that hotel to the shedd .

Here’s the new hotel info: we have a special rate of $139/day at the Downtown Holiday Inn and Suites on Harrison Avenue, which is about one mile from the Shedd. The hotel phone number is 312-957-9100, and ask for the Stingray Symposium rate. There is a shuttle bus from the airport, check with the hotel for that information. We have 15 rooms blocked for the Symposium at this time.

I know several people from this area are planning on attending, but have to wait until the last minute to register just to make sure work allows the time off (working with animals means being flexible). I include myself in that group. I'm hoping to go - but if something comes up at the last minute, I'd hate to throw away that much money.
