Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ever changed the gravel in their Oscar tank with the Oscar in it?

I went from bare bottom to sand if that counts?

Yep, I just made sure to add it when he was on the opposite side so he wouldn't get freaked out or possibly try to eat the sand, he tried to eat anything.

IM hoping to do the one side when hes at the other end and get him to the other side to do the other. Does that make sense??? LOL!!!! Was he mad at you??? LOL!!!

Yep it makes sense. Like you want to do the left side while he's on the right side of the tank then get him to the left side and do the right side.
Nah, he was just prone to trying to eat everything haha.

Why didn't I say it like that!!! LOL!!!! Do you think I will make mess up he cycle real bad?

Nah, the majority of the bacteria is in the filters I believe. If you are worried you can take it out in parts. How big is the tank and how much gravel are we talking about?

It's a 125 and the gravel just barely covers the bottom. I don't like a lot of gravel.

Like literally 1 pebble high or maybe half an inch?
