Changing Gravel

I doubt there's enough bacteria in that much gravel to make a difference. If you really want to be safe then simple take about a handful or a couple out a day and once all of it is gone put in the new gravel.
I have plastic plant's in there and some big river rocks. I think it should be OK.
I have a 75 gallon, 55 gallon, 29 gallon planted, and 20 gallon quarantine set up. I have 3 55 gallong waiting to be set up. 2 of them will be fish tanks 1 will be a lizard tank most likely for a leopard gecko since I've only ever had 1 lizard before and it was one of them before so I'm a beginner. I then have to get 2 more 55 gallons for another room. I plan on redoing my stand for my 75 and 55 and making the 55 a double 55 and maybe putting a 40 gallong breeder under the 75 gallon. I was thinking a 55 but it would be too much I think. Either a 38 gallon or a 40 gallon breeder, I'm leaning towards the 40 gallon breeder.
Also I'm thinking about setting up a 10 gallon or a 12 inch cube for red cherry shrimp.

You have a lot of tanks!!! I have the 125 & 55. Leopard Geckos are cool. I use to have one I kept in a 55. I had her for about 14 years. I LOVE THEM!!! I use to have Bearded Dragon's and an Iguana.

I'd suggest getting a plastic large tub and moving the Oscar in there while you remove the gravel and install the new one.
It'll annoy him, but if you're prepared you can change gravel out quite quickly, even if it kicks up a lot of sediment you can easily change the water, then once it's settled add the big fella back in.

Basically, I make about 3 sandwiches a day.
