I went with black diamond blasting sand in my 300 gallon & that's my favorite look so far! I still don't have lights on that tank & can't wait til I do!

Ill look into that! I just have like mad high PH out the tap so I gotta be careful I don't add anything that will lower it ya know

If I were a bass I'd like something else besides my food every day. No structure & no substrate are definitely easier to maintain, but not pleasing to my taste. And if I were a ray I know I'd be happier with some substrate to play in! Plus, doesn't substrate do something beneficial for the health of the fish? Off topic, hayn, your collection looks awesome!

Thanks man.

I'm pretty sure that gravel, sand and decore has BB growing on them. So in that case, it's good. But, with us bass and ray keepers, we like more filtration more then anything. More filtration and more room and less things in the tank to hurt the bigger bass. More swimming space for rays and bass alike. Once your bass hit the 12"-15" mark, you'll know what I mean. When your bass are small, it's fine to have all that. IMO of course.

Now, if I had the room, this would be the way I would set my tank up.
