I'm quite surprised, I saw your video ages ago, and I thought your ery ery looked much more fun than a malabaricus, that just sit there all day.

You didn't see the video I had for you about my malabaricus? Both types of wolves generally sit there the whole day. Some people don't even have chance to see them hunt. But I feel it all depends on how you rear it. For me, definitely no hiding place for any wolves. They hide all day once they find a hole to hide. After being exposed for some time, they become bold... Crazily bold... :naughty:

Here is the link again if you missed it. My mal whacking a BF, with my tank light and room lights all switched on. My wolves are defintely not camera shy...

It is the punch that the mal has that gives me kick. The size of prey that the mal is able to take down. Including my hands. This mal once took some blood from my hand, a nasty bite.

I love this fellow... I would have kept the rainbow wolf if I can, but to choose between the two, I'd take the mal anytime.

But if you really can't stand fishes sitting there doing nothing, than probably snakeheads are for you. They "patrol" the tank for any intruders... And eat anything small enough to be eaten.

I happen to have both.:woot:

b - yep I saw the video thanks man - it's impressive. Much more impressive than the mal I had.

I agree on snakeheads, I first kept a snakehead when I was 9 or 10. I love them, my favourite fish.

And when I got back into fish I bought the mal kind of expecting a snakehead, and I was very disappointed. It was very docile, and usually would not even eat until I had gone to bed.

I want to try another one, this time a lacerdae or aimara or xingu black wolf.

Congrats! great pickup!!

Be warned, I would have to say that C. asiatica is one of the most meanest species. highly aggressive!!

Enjoy! ;)

I definitely hope it is mean! :grinyes:

But it has been pretty timid so far. Hiding below some rocks so far. :swear: I might just want to remove the rocks soon so there is no place for it to hide.

If you want to keep a snakehead, then go for it! No regrets. :headbang2

But for wolf, get a brazilian black wolf. I saw some in my LFS, crazy buggers tried to attack my hand when I waved in front of them. They cost about 200 USD though. So I didn't get it.

Congrats :)

I use to have a maruliodes. It would ALWAYS hide. Like always. I hate if for abt 6 months and all it did was hide. Then i decided one day to take away all his hiding places. and then BAM. He became super active. Always coming up to the front of the tank whenever i came into the room etc. But he was about 8 inches at this time. So you might want to wait for you little guy to settle down and grow some balls first.
