Hello JayP, how length is your diplos right now. I'm considering to buy a piece (they say approx 6") but I'm affraid it was a micro. As far as I know diplo starting to morph at 7" size (info from the snakehead forum). I'll give you the link :

Mine are nearing 7 inch I would say... And thanks yeah I have read these threads along with made one on here and everyone has confirmed they are Diplogramma. I Can see that very easily myself

Nice snake head I see a couple of theSe recently going for about 20 times the price of a micro, what's the difference when both are adult?? Any pics of large diplos

In IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Channa micropeltes has the status of "Least Concern" whereas Channa diplogramma has reached "Vulnerable" status and the population trend is noted to be decreasing.
So the latter would cost more...
