Channa gachua Dwarf Snakehead & Bichir(Ornate)

Hi i m a newbie here who is planning to get a Channa Gachua but will like to know can i keep it togther with my bichir(Ornate)currently 6" ,or is there any other channas which u guys can recommend me as a newbie to keep and best can keep togther with my Ornate and considering the temp and water parimeter inside as well,thank you so much

i think de do fine together,but you need to buy youre channa when he is a least 4.
else there is a chance he gets eaten by the ornate.

a tropical gachua is probably the best choice for a mixed tank , quite hardy and not overly aggresive , my concern here would be the eventual size of the birchir ,but should be ok, make sure you provide the gachua with many hiding places and try to add some floating plant cover to make it feel as comfortable as possable

Thank alot all bros for your reply but what about for Channa bleheri ,will it be fine togther with my ornate as i just found out that bleheri are very beautiful but wan to know interm pf the Ph and temp,will they be suitable to comm togther

Bleheri and an ornate won't mix. Bleheri are subtropical and need cooler temperatures than what the bichir will be comfortable with.

just make shure you get one from a tropical reigon , if not shure ask the lfs where they where imported from , most lfs will be able to tell you , consider putting 3 or 4 in the tank as they are best in a group , the birchir will be fine unless they breed , what size tank ? , remember the birchir will grow big

also as allready advised belheri are no tankmates for tropical fish ,they will not live long lives with permanent high temps they need a winter cooling period , to be honest the only snakehead i would put with tropical fish is gachua ,and thats only if you really must mix them , the best way to keep snakeheads is to keep a small group of 4-6 . i dont know how attatched you are to the birchir but if you could consider traiding it , then you will have a choice of many snakeheads to choose from - you would not be disapointed

good luck with whatever you choose ,either way iam shure you will love snakeheads , even my wife loves them and she doesnt like many fish at all lol

gachua is defo more active as bleheri, and in singapore it should be easy to get some tropcal gachua/limbatus from thailand (Koh chang,Kaho Lak,Krabi,...)
There are some really gib growing gachuas (30 cm) but I Havent sen them in real, and dont know were their from, perhaps sri lanka, but not sure.
Theas would be tropical too.

Or try a lucia, or obscura, they are tropical too, even the obscura shares the same otrigin continet as the bichir

Thak you so uch bro brucki for sharing so much of wonderful detailed infos with me,i guess i will going down to one of the lFS to see if i could get some and will share their photos soon,lastly if u happen to come to singapore for holidays will shall gald to meet u up for some drink and maybe show u around the farms in singapore
