Congrats on the fry! What are your plans?
Hi,
ypou are right, the more colourful and not so fat fish is the male. The female has a bigger belly because she still produces feeder eggs for the fry.
In Addition to mums feeding you can feed the fry everything that is small enough to swallow for them (everything smaller than their eyeballs) . Small brine shrimp, mosquito larvae, micropellets,flakes,......
The fry will show you what is their favourite meal. But dont feed only one thing, give them a various diet to keep them healthy, and used to different kinds of food.
Now the ripped fins (your other thread) its pretty common that channa parents argue about who is in charge to monitor the fry, this can bring up a severe fighting between the parents.
To prevent this, you should add more hiding places for the parents like floatinig cork bark tubes, caves and bogwood that structures the tank more than it is now.
