Thropheus: Is this a marulioides or a marulia?
Should i get more as company. It is now with a same size Ornatipinnis and a same sized Senegalus.

looks like a maruloides to me and agree with hermandrum a seven band. congrats bro for d rare pick up..i'm searching everywhere for 7 band but until now couldn't get hold. quantity of flowers (black + silver rim scale) on the band (blotches) will depends on the width of the band. so the thicker d better

Ok, should i get more?
Is 50$ a fair price?
Will probably get 2 more.

I didnt know they where rare... but im happy that they are:grinno:

Hi,

get prepared for something big.
Tank size min 2,5m*1,0m*0,6*
marulia/marulioides-complex are fast growing.
In Germany there was the first captiv breeding of marulioides.
They live in a LFS in Hamburg and belong to member.

Cheers Brucki

i must admit the more i look at the head the more i am swaying to marulioides , it is probably just getting its markings early

firstly ornatipinis (are we talking channa or poly) if channa is going to be far to small for the marulioides in no time at all , if birchir then should be good for a fair while poss life , but the sen may stay too small and end up as food .

cheers col
should you get more ? - that really depends on weather you want to try and breed them or not , breeding this guy is not to be taken lightly , if you plan on trying then i would get 5-6 in total and remove other fish , if you take this route i can point you in the direction of an article on how it was acheived for the first time in captivity , if not breeding i would just keep the one channa , luckly marulioides is one of the easiest large snakeheads to keep with other fish . wish you luck on whatever you decide

Here, a little bigger,6-8", can ya id it for 100% now?
