Channa marulioides or channa melanopterus?

They look like they are the Blue Sumatran Marulioides.

definitely my favorite variant of the maruliodes complex. You're lucky peter, as far as i know, this variant is relatively rare in Canada and Europe

My friend in Poland bought them and now he needs my help to identify this species.And i need your help guys
Channa marulioides is too LARGE for me hehehe.....

it's my Sumatran Maruliodes with blue base colour. Some collector call it Channa melanoptera because they have some differently colour if comparing with Maruliodes (???).

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I have a question. About 2 years ago I caught 2 yellow based Channa Marulioides (with blood red eyes) from Merchang terengganu, malaysia. They were about 8" then. They are kept separately as they would fight to the death and presently are around 20" long now but sadly I don't see any flowery patterns. My ph is around 6.5 and the water is soft. Q at what age would the patterns appear ?

hello i'm new in MFK i got a pair of 40 cm channa melanoptera, but they color haven't yet change into dark blue they sometimes turn in blue when they were bersek lol i need your advice how to make my melanoptera has a beautiful blue color thanks
